Women’s Centre of Calgary is every women’s place for
support, connections & community. We welcome you to join us as we continue
to change lives, one women at a time! The
Women’s Centre of Calgary is a unique, non-profit organization that
is dedicated to “Women Supporting Communities, Communities Supporting
Women!”
In its various forms, the Women’s Centre has provided
services, support and community to women in Calgary for more than 30 years.
With its philosophies of peer support, drop-in services and programming
defined by client need, the Women’s Centre is rooted in the realities and
dreams of Calgary women. We serve any woman, of any age, with any question.
The Women’s Centre of Calgary operates on a
community building model of “women helping women” with nine full-time
equivalent staff and more than 400 active volunteers each year. In 2009, we
responded to over 54,000 contacts; a dramatic 35 percent increase from 2008.
We are working hard to help women living with issues as diverse as poverty,
family breakdown, abuse, health and education, unemployment and
discrimination. We are currently looking for new volunteers (direct service,
casino and football) for the 2010 spring and summer season.
