RISING WOMEN EXPERT ADVICE...

What are the phases of the moon and what do they mean?

We are all familiar with the Full and New Moon, but what about the other phases? Just after the New Moon, or beginning of the waxing phase, we have the Crescent Moon. The Crescent Moon personality is of one who needs to nourish what was newly planted during the New Moon phase. They display confidence, are self assertive, and may even break with tradition to work at becoming something greater. On the flip side, they may also find it a challenge to leave home because of their need for security.

The next waxing phase is the First Quarter Moon. This phase encourages the person to push forward, take action and make split second decisions. You may often find this personality working in emergency rooms or driving ambulances, as they thrive on taking action in a crisis.

The Gibbous Moon is the final waxing phase, which happens about four days prior to the Full Moon. This Gibbous phase is the one who is aware their actions can have consequences. They therefore always need to know why, where, how and what, making them very focused, analytical and always working towards fulfilling their purpose.

Coming to completion of the waxing moon phases, we enter the Full Moon phase. Here the personality seeks fulfillment and learning through relationships. Listening and being aware of how their words and actions affect others can be beneficial to the Full Moon personality to remain balanced in their relationships.

The Disseminating Moon is the start of the waning phase. This personality is ready to share their ideas with others, whether or not the message is received. They are natural communicators and make good publicists or reporters.

The Last Quarter phase is all about readjusting to one’s surroundings and learning to relate to the here and now. They need to learn to eliminate old values and systems of thought to make room for future ideas. If this is not done, they may experience a crisis in consciousness and have a much harder time in the here and now. They need alone time and more rest than others.

The last waning phase, prior to the New Moon, is the Balsamic Phase. This personality is finishing an eight phase cycle of lifetimes, which can be very karmic. They therefore need to resolve, find closure or surrender to karmic ties prior to moving into the next new cycle of life and relationships.
