RISING WOMEN EXPERTS...

I cannot lose weight in spite of me eating right, exercising and sleeping well! I’ve had many tests done by my doctor and she claims there is no medical problem. Please help shed some light on why this may be.

I often meet people with this same complaint in my clinic. On paper, every weight loss measure looks appropriate, yet there are no significant changes. This is why it is so important to look at the whole picture, which includes the mind, body and spirit. If we’re only dealing with the physical body and mechanical explanations, we’re overlooking significant other factors that play into excess weight.

We need to better understand your belief systems, possible reasons for self-sabotage, any emotional blockages and what your true subconscious goal is. Often there are communication blocks at the more energetic levels, such as thoughts, feelings and chakras, which interfere with the physical body being able to shed its fat. This is why I suggest that energetic healing and life coaching are incorporated into your weight-loss regiment, along with the nutritional counselling. Long term success is very difficult to maintain without balancing the deeper issues that feed into stored weight or poor lifestyle choices.

I have had clients in your same predicament that did not lose their weight until they balanced out some core issues. One woman thought she wanted to be thin, but when we looked deeper into her subconscience through BodyTalk, we found that she actually did not want to be appealing to men. She feared their attention, and therefore; her weight was protecting her from this. Another woman told herself she was fat all the time, so even though she was eating only vegetables, lean protein and minimal carbohydrates, she was still storing fat (we are very good at proving our beliefs to be true!) Another client was so sensitive to any form of criticism or perceived judgement from other people, that her fat shielded her from these external sources of stress. It was a source of protection that she could not release until she shed her “false self”, embraced her authentic self and this improved her self-esteem dramatically, which lead her to let go of her fears of what others thought of her. All three lost weight after balancing these core issues.

We are complex beings made up of so much more than meets the eye. The “invisible” energies, such as emotions and thoughts, play just as much of a role in our health and weight, and we should not forget this when looking for health solutions.
