RISING WOMEN EXPERTS...
Help! I’m stuck! Never before have I been stuck in my writing, but I hit
a brick wall this time. Can you help?
By Tina Cassidy of Purpose Within
So while I have heard this cry for help many times from others, in just
writing this column, I too was recently challenged with this very
predicament! While wondering “Why?” I noticed the post-it note that I used
to remind myself to respond to your question. It read “Help! I’m Stuck!” I
had it posted to my computer and have glanced at it daily. As it turns out
the more I saw the note, the more stuck I became! Once again I was reminded
of the power of our words and thoughts. In the absence of conscious
self-talk, I allowed the words to seep in and take hold until I had myself
convinced I was stuck!
Our thoughts create things! The universe operates on basic laws. It is not
concerned with whether our thoughts move us toward or away from our goals.
What we think about, comes about! My daily rehearsal of: “Help! I’m Stuck!”
created exactly what I told myself.
The feeling of “stuck” is normal; remaining stuck is not! So in the face of
this predicament, I sought out the assistance of my coach and mentor. She
laughed good-naturedly at the irony of this, and provided the advice that
moved me forward, which I share with you: “Just pick up the pen and start
writing! Taking action will help you become unstuck and will begin your
journey in the direction you want to go. You can self correct, if need be,
once you are moving!”
Earl Nightengale, Author, Motivational Speaker and Founder of Nightengale-Conant,
once said in comment to another universal law, “Every object in motion stays
in motion until another force or object acts on it and causes it to stop.”
People who are clear about their dreams move towards them with passion and
excitement. These actions create further momentum and more action, bringing
them closer to their heart’s desire. Clarity is the first step, but action
is key to success! Without action nothing changes - we remain stuck! Once
moving, we can adjust our steps along the way; in the same manner I can edit
and revise what I write. However, I must act!
If you find yourself stuck in any area of your life; first get clarity of
what you want and then move yourself to action! A journey of a thousand
miles begins with just one step and so does getting ourselves out of a rut
and moving toward the achievement of our dreams!
