RISING WOMEN EXPERT
ADVICE...
Life has become routine and mundane. How do I get the spark back in my
life to jump out of bed in the morning eager and excited about my day?
Life becomes routine and mundane when the purpose or motivation behind what
you are doing in your day is forgotten. Are you doing everything on your
list of things to do for everyone else, and have forgotten yourself in the
process? Is the list of things to do no longer fun or enjoyable? Are others
making your choices for you, deciding what is best for you? Is there too
much on your list of things to do, making it overwhelming and seemingly
never ending? All of these things can zap your energy and make it hard to
get out of bed in the morning.
The first step is awareness. Become aware of where you are spending your
energy. Are you doing something because you enjoy it, or are you giving your
energy to someone or somewhere else out of obligation? As your awareness of
how you spend your time increases, it will become easier to make time for
the things that bring you joy, and even easier to take the unfulfilling
obligations off the calendar.
The next step is listening and remembering. Remember what it was that gave
you joy as a child and what you did to have fun. Listen to your intuition
and say yes to opportunities of fun. Did you enjoy swimming, riding horses,
a walk in the mountains, hanging out with friends? What is it that is fun to
you today and will bring you joy? It could be as simple as spending some
quiet time at home reading, volunteering, or taking the dog for a walk in
the country.
Schedule fun and joy in your calendar. It gives you something to look
forward to, adding excitement and the thrill of anticipation to your day.
It’s also just like scheduling a doctor’s appointment or working out. It is
important for your health and happiness to schedule this “ME” time. This is
where you get to do what brings your heart desires into action.
Make yourself a priority. Keep focused on the intention to live a life full
of joy and fun, and make choices that are in alignment with that intention.
It will help to keep it a priority in your life, and prevent it being
distracted by the “to do” list. It all starts by taking one step at a time.
