I I want to know how I can really break old habits that distract me, so I
leave history behind, and I live the life I want.
Old patterns are so familiar that we don’t easily recognize them as
patterns, they just are. They blend easily into our lives, along with their
origins and triggers. Old patterns prevail because there is a benefit to
that pattern at some level, possibly a feeling of safety, comfort or just
consistency. With that said, we often live in a duality between the desire
to live our ideal life and the “comfort” of the past.
The triggers and origins of old patterns come from a need for comfort or
safety. As challenges arise throughout the process of change, the crafty
nature of the “lower self” obliges this need for safety through self talk
about fear, doubt or limitation. This provides a false feeling of safety in
the ruts of the past instead of a feeling of the satisfaction of growth and
empowerment. It is easy to be distracted from living our best life. You need
to ask yourself what is more important to you than your patterns of the
past; so more important that you would let go of your lack of trust, doubt
and fear so that you can exchange that with growth and empowerment.
Hope and fear are opposite energies. Where there is hope, fear cannot live;
and where there is fear, hope cannot live. Understand that our outside world
is created by our inside reality and your subconscious is 95% of the
processing capacity of your mind that runs the snap decisions, beliefs and
habits of your life. Intention, the energy of who you are being, is 97% of
what is showing up in your life, and the other 3% is determined by actions
and “doing”. Once you take a look “under the hood” so to speak, it becomes
easier to delete low energy choices and situations, and break through old
patterns.
I suggest that you start by making choices that come from trust, hope,
growth and empowerment. Mix this up with new things in your life like new
routes, new foods, new environments and new people. Your beliefs, habits,
and patterns can also be changed quickly and easily using processes that
