RISING WOMEN EXPERT ADVICE...
One of my friends says she has a stone that calms her. Can you tell me
which stones or crystals are good for stress relief and how to use them?
A good night sleep is a great place to eliminate stress. Herkimer Diamond,
Larvakite or Amethyst placed under one’s pillow or bed can help one to dream
easy, communicate with your higher self, and generally have a more relaxing
sleep. Nowadays the commute to and from work can be stressful too. Try
hanging a small Quartz or Citrine pendulum in your car. If you work in an
office, placing an Amethyst on your desk for calm and creativity or a piece
of Black Tourmaline in your pocket can help ward off negativity energy from
all sources. At home, a salt lamp or Amethyst placed next to the computer
can help dissipate headache causing EMF energy from the computer. For a
headache, hold Amethyst or Sugilite to your brow.
After work, place some tumbled stones of Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Citrine, and
clear Quartz in and around the tub to relax your mind, body and spirit. If
you have a partner, try Crystal massage oils. Available on-line, they are
quality massage oils infused with crystal energies. You can also place
shallow dishes filled with tumbled Carnelian stones or Rose quartz
surrounding a tea light around the bedroom. They provide a warm glow and a
sensual ambiance.
Crystals are often worn as jewellery. When picking out a jewellery piece
with a crystal or any tumbled stone, take a deep breath, relax your body and
run your hands over top of the piece. If it calls to you or gives you a
feeling of peace...grab it! A calming Aquamarine, cooling Emeralds or the
comforting warmth of a Ruby can be very effective in a necklace or ring. Citrine is a positive stone to uplift spirits. It wards off and dissipates
negative energy but is considered to promote luck and wealth when placed in
the wallet.
Other stones for de-stressing include Amazonite, Chalcedony, Peridot, Topaz,
Rhodochrosite and Sunstone. Sit quietly holding the stones in each hand,
close your eyes and visualize a relaxing scene; a beach, rainbow, etc. As
you make more time for yourself, you will eventually notice a calming
sensation just by handling the stones.
Not all calming crystals are precious stones. I often go walking by the
river. It’s relaxing and provides another component to stress reduction;
exercise, while discovering treasure! Keep your eyes out when going for a
walk for that stone that calls you... it could be your “peace” stone.
