RISING WOMEN EXPERT
ADVICE...
I am ready to launch
a new strategic direction for my business. What path will I need to take and
how can I ensure my vision becomes a reality?
Anything becomes possible when you identify your vision, create a strategic
plan and implement a success strategy. The following steps illustrate the
process.
Step 1: When working with a coach/mentor, revisit your vision,
beliefs, commitment and your capacity to be consistent. Getting ready to
launch growth requires you to be literally ready for success. You will need
to make sure that your vision is congruent with your beliefs about potential
and your capacity for success. As well, you need to re-affirm your personal
commitment to your business and your capacity to make your business a
priority for at least the next 30 days. This commitment is like going on a
diet or exercise strategy, and you may need a coach to assist you with
accountability. You need to strengthen consistency by moving to the model of
just one day at a time and repeat.
Step 2: Get the right resources in place for success. Are you using
LinkedIn, Blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Skype and other marketing collateral
effectively? You may need to freshen up your professional image including
business cards, web presence, and any business profiles that you have been
using. Are the images and messages you are using current? We all need to
touch our clients more often over the year.
Step 3: Manage your energy effectively for growth. This may include
managing sleep, diet, exercise and emotions. Don’t let “life” run you down
to the point where you are working with less than 50% energy. You create
energy drains by failing to practice healthy self-care thus allowing clients
to suffer because your energy is flat like a pancake.
Step 4: Detach yourself from toxic people who drain your energy
because they are negative, angry, gossipy or in a blame-mode. Remember:
whatever you focus on expands. Clients are attracted to enthusiastic,
loving, compassionate business owners.
Step 5: Plan and manage your schedule. Too often the best intention
is stifled because of poor time management. Failing to manage your time
leads to more time and effort wasted to fix the crises you have built. Hint:
map out each day, week and month. You may even want to consider scheduling
your day into 3 or 4 quadrants or make your day a 6 hour day maximum. Then
you will never run out of time!
