What kind of results besides increased energy can you hope to experience by cleansing?

With spring here - and so long awaited in more ways than one in respect to us all mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually - the importance of cleansing is more than just physical. It actually involves the whole body and includes the “cleaning” out of the mind of unwanted thoughts, the “cleansing and healing” of emotions, the “cleansing and releasing” of the will, and the “cleansing and removal” of unwanted chemicals and poisons not released properly over the winter months.

During the winter, we are generally colder and do not sweat as much. We also eat heavier foods which, don’t necessarily cleanse but instead “build up” to keep us warm. This results in toxins clogging our whole being, and over the years can lead to diseases.

Live foods like sprouts, raw fruits and vegetables, such as leafy green salads, carrots, celery, radishes, cabbage and apples will give you a good base to start to a cleanse. Sprouts are true “live” foods because you can actually plant them as is and they will grow. They also impart their “life” to our bodies. Sprouts like Alfalfa are building, Red Clover is a blood cleanser, Broccoli is a good protector and cleanser of the intestines, Radish cleans out chemicals from the blood, Lentils clean out the arteries, and Bean sprouts balance the blood sugars while you are doing your cleanse. You can eat the sprouts in a salad or a shake, though raw is better because you are not processing them. Combine a sprout cleanse with vegetable juicing, a fiber shake and enemas or colonics to make the most out of your cleanse.

People are often surprised at what can be accomplished with a cleanse. Organs like the kidney and liver have meridians that go right past the knee joint and because those organs are often clogged, they are the first to get “unclogged” with a cleanse, thus the knee joint feels lighter, looser and has less pain. The lung and large intestine meridian travels past the shoulder so when they are cleansed often shoulder problems disappear as well. Once the colon rids the body of toxins during the cleanse, runners often notice an increased ability to breathe deeply. The colon, no longer pressing up on the diaphragm, will allow you to take a much bigger breath in.
