Is It Really Possible to Change?
By Claire Bramham of Mind & Body Therapy Yes, of course
it is. It’s actually a hundred year old myth that it takes a long time to
change. It was Freud and psychoanalysis that heavily influenced this
outdated idea.
In psychology, we say that thinking affects our feelings, which in turn
affects our behaviours. There is a statistic that 80 percent of what you
believe about yourself was formed before the age of 8 years old. This is
before we have the ability to discern or rationalise. Therefore a lot of
what we subconsciously believe about ourselves is outdated, unwanted and
false. We are all affected and held back in life by our self-limiting
beliefs, so it’s really important to identify and change these limiting
thoughts.
The changes that matter most of all are changes in perception rather than
any changes in the world around us. With the tools we have available today
we can change the way we perceive our world in a heartbeat.
We now know that most change needs to take place on a subconscious level. If
we could just decide to consciously change what we want, then why does it
not just happen for us? Milton Erickson once said that patients would be
patients as long as their conscious and unconscious minds are not in
rapport. It is very valuable to have an objective person to help you to work
on changing these self-limiting thoughts.
Therapies such as Hypnosis and NLP techniques can provide you with the
ability to remove any subconscious blocks that may be preventing you from
generating your desired level of attraction. These type of therapies are
wonderful tools for change, where we can access the subconscious mind,
thereby changing unwanted thoughts, feeling and behaviours and installing
new positive ways of thinking, feeling and acting. Many people are surprised
that we can now cure a phobia in one hour or help them quit smoking that
fast.
When it comes to the healing power of the mind, Dr. Alfred A. Barrios has
reported that with Hypnotherapy there is a 93 percent recovery after 6
sessions and with Psychotherapy only a 38 percent recovery after 600
sessions.
If there is something you would like to change in your life, know that there
are really easy and rapid techniques that can help you bring about these
changes. Change is more that possible, it can happen in and instant.
