How can I make better colour choices?

Your answer: by having a better understanding of colour! Colour is
electromagnetic energy and it doesn’t stop at the eye; it penetrates the
whole body producing different sensations and reactions. Colour is so much
more than just an aesthetic element, it’s an experience. It stimulates our
senses much like music does and is often the first thing that draws us in.
Colour makes an immediate and powerful impact on all of us. It awakens the
spirit, makes a statement, and always produces a reaction. It sends a
strong, persuasive, yet subliminal message; it evokes emotions and
stimulates our senses. It’s a form of energy that affects us mentally,
emotionally, physically and spiritually. It can be used to heal, inspire,
motivate, relax, sway thinking, and your personal colour choices speak
volumes about you.
Color is what gets our attention and stirs our emotions. It increases or
decreases energy levels, calms or soothes, boosts productivity, helps us
exude confidence, cures depression, builds images and helps us win sales.
Colour is the most instantaneous method of communication for conveying your
message; it communicates, entices and attracts. It sways thinking and
changes actions, and it can win the heart and mind of the beholder.
A successful mix is not easy to achieve and it’s the combination of colours
that makes a palette successful; colours don’t often stand alone. Colour
scheming is a learned and sometimes instinctive skill, certainly worth
developing so that you can use colour to your best advantage. Start by
determining your overall effect or mood, then put it into words and select
colours that will convey your message. For example, “natural oasis” calls
for soft, natural tones like sand, taupes or raffia.
Become mindful of different colours and their effects. Tune into how they
make you feel and the messages they send. Once you are able to harness the
power of colour and tune in to their effects, you’ll learn to love choosing
colours and I assure you it will change your life in more ways than you ever
imagined. Surface changes have the power to change your inner landscape and
great colour palettes create great style.

a magazine - one that conveys your message clearly. Remember, confusion
costs energy, time and money, clarity creates ease.
