RISING WOMEN EXPERT ADVICE...

I think being of service in my community will give to me a depth of meaning to my life that I feel is missing. Where could I start looking for the right “fit?”

I have always felt that we need to begin with the idea that “service” is about giving, without any attachment to the outcome, from a place that feels joyfully content inside. When we contemplate that idea, then the only question we have to make is: What “cause” draws us in?

A “New World Leadership” is inviting us to take responsibility for standing in our truth. A call that promotes inclusion and projects the infinite potential of a new world is if we work together for the highest good. When it comes down to being of service in our day to day lives, we must somehow find a way to hold this larger vision for ourselves, in each small act of kindness.

The act of being of service is not only a natural proponent to creating a higher world order, but it also innately gifts us on the path of self examination by revealing to us the dynamics of sacrifice that often hinder the joy of giving. Sometimes the choices we make in being of service to others create a sense of feeling torn between our well being and that of those we choose to serve. When our focus is upon ourselves (what we can derive from our “gift” of service) we miss the simple beauty of one heart splitting in two, found in the joy of giving.

Service can easily turn into Sacrifice in an attempt to prove our worth, or to gain something in exchange for our time and energies spent.

I have come to understand that even when I have within me the “need to make a difference”, I am given to act and react from an idea of who I think I should be. In doing so, I cease to be the natural, spontaneously loving person that I am. I cease to stand in my truth while giving, and therefore become the creator of my unrealized expectations.

May we always remember that our inherent need to express our love and care is a natural “fit” and welcomed anywhere, anytime on this planet.

As we grow to understand the true nature of loving kindness we can make certain it comes at no cost to the giver or the receiver, and the depth of life’s meaning for ourselves and others will simply and naturally unfold in love’s embrace.
