How do you get rid of kidney stones or gallbladder stones?

By Monica Hirai of Hirai Health Services

Getting rid of kidney stones is a longer procedure than getting rid of gallbladder stones. If you have both kidney and gallbladder stones then you can work at them together with some of the same herbs used for kidney stones. Depending on the size of the kidney stones it can take up to 8 weeks to completely get rid of them. Gallstones on the other hand can be flushed out in batches with a 24 hour flush recipe. Usually this flush consists of Epsom salts, olive oil and grapefruit juice consumed at specific times throughout the day. This flush is repeated in two week intervals until there are no stones coming out at the end of the day.

The kidney flush consists of herbs along with Vitamin B6 and Magnesium to help the break down of the stones and the release of the matter through the urine. One of the herbs used is Hydrangea and it is often used to break down kidney stones but will also get rid of the gallstones. Marshmallow herb is often added to the kidney flush to soothe irritated kidneys from the breaking down of the kidney stones. Parsley can be added to aid in the breaking down of the stones as well as provide minerals to take away inflammation and build up in the kidneys. Other herbs such as uva ursi, cranberry juice or capsules, buchu and juniper are also very useful to increase urine flow as well as increase the “solute” content of the urine. Magnesium is added to relax the kidneys and the ureters, so that the “sand” can be released from the stones that are broken up. Vitamin B6 is added to increase the urine flow.

Urine, in most cases, should be slightly cloudy with a pH of 6.0 to 6.5, which means that you will be eliminating “garbage” before stones can be built up again. Also, you will be eliminating “acid” from your tissues which means your tissues can feed themselves better instead of “drowning” in garbage.

Stones in the kidneys are often formed in people who eat dairy products, are constipated, tend to be afraid, don’t drink enough chlorine-free water and have had urinary infections. Stones are formed due to calcium “not” being absorbed or they are formed around a bacteria or another “foreign” object in the body. Kidney stones are a form of congestion in the kidneys and they need to be flushed. Once you are finished the kidney flush, you will be ready to improve your digestion with the gallbladder flush.
