RISING WOMEN EXPERT ADVICE...
I read a report on YouTube lately about mercury being found in the
sugar replacements in our food. This is very unsettling and needs to be
shared with your readers.
Yes, sadly the reports stating that mercury is in fact present in the
ingredient that has replaced sugar in many of our processed foods is true.
And even more disturbing is that the FDA knows that this toxin are present
but choose not to react.
The culprit sugar is high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS). This product has
replaced sugar as the sweetener in many beverages and foods such as breads,
cereals, breakfast bars, lunch meats, yogurts, soups and condiments.
Scientific studies are revealing that mercury is present in almost half of
the commercial HFCS used in the food industry. They have also revealed that
out of 55 commonly consumed products where HFCS is the first- or
second-highest labeled ingredient, almost a third contain mercury! The
chemical was found most commonly in HFCS-containing dairy products,
dressings and condiments. (Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy)
As documented in David Wallinga, M.D., and his co-authors of Not So Sweet:
Missing Mercury and High Fructose Corn Syrup report from the Institute for
Agriculture and Trade Policy, Quaker Oatmeal to Go, Jack Daniel’s Barbecue
Sauce from Heinz, Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup, Kraft Original Barbecue Sauce,
and Nutri-Grain Strawberry Cereal Bars at the top of the list. Coca-Cola
came in at 12th place. (

Exposure to high levels of metallic, inorganic, or organic mercury is very
aggressive to our health. It can permanently damage the nervous system,
brain, lungs, kidneys and the developing fetus. The effects on the brain
include irritability, tremors, changes in vision or hearing, and memory
problems.
“Mercury is toxic in all its forms. Given how much high-fructose corn syrup
is consumed by children, it could be a significant additional source of
mercury never before considered. We are calling for immediate changes by
industry and the [U.S. Food and Drug Administration] to help stop this
avoidable mercury contamination of the food supply,” the Institute for
Agriculture and Trade Policy’s Dr. David Wallinga, a co-author of both
studies, said in a prepared statement. (
