The
Power of Belief - If You Can
Believe That You Can Achieve
By Janet Rowe of Health & Natural LifestylesNot to long
ago, I was sitting back and watching the news (which I rarely do) and it hit
me, I have so very much to be thankful for.
The television was showing the American Thanksgiving celebrations. I had
celebrated my Thanksgiving with a meditation and recognition in my heart of
all the wonderful people in my life, my health, my happiness and love. I
also truly cherished the teachings, learning and honest rewards of my work.
In the past year, the things I was in need of, I was able to manifest. What
a great year. What an interesting ride! I was thankful for so much that I
never really thought about the people who did not experience happiness or
gratefulness of their year. So the question posed: Why can’t we all have
rewarding years?
During the Thankgiving celebration program, I saw anguish, fear,
frustration, anxiety and more fear in many of the people’s faces. There was
a huge lack of belief or trusting of spirit. It was obvious that the sadness
and fear for so many involved the wars, the lack of communication with their
loved ones, the loss of their family members or the loss of their homes,
their jobs, and their helplessness for people whom are very ill or
depressed. I was totally saddened. I realize that “World Peace” was
certainly very much needed and yet so far away, on a global base.
Now what about scaling that down and looking on a local base. Or taking it
further down to an individual base. How many of us have natural, honest
power of belief? Such as belief that we can achieve what we have been told
is the impossible. Or that we can have love in our hearts, achieve total
health, trust in our environment, trust that our passion won’t dwindle or
trust that our journey is beyond our total control. I sat back and thought
about the success I shared with many of my clients, and their success in
getting well verses some of the clients that were not able to complete their
program - due to lack of spousal support, financial issues or an illness
that was just too much. There are so many rewards in witnessing and being
part of a transformation of someone’s wellness, but there was also many
excuses and the differences most apparent was peoples individual power of
belief.
If you can belief that you can achieve something, and it is for your higher
good, then you will achieve it. I, personally, relate this back to some of
the words and sayings my mother shared with me, such as “You can succeed at
anything you set your mind to...”, and “If it’s in your heart you will
achieve it.” My mother would also say that lots of hard work will reward you
greatly. So knowing that if I combined the two; if I worked hard with all my
heart, I could achieve whatever I want and get paid for it. This probably
for the most part is true and it comes with its rewards, but they are much
more than financial, they are emotional. They are building blocks for your
soul.
What this really tells us is to have belief in ourselves, and trust in our
gut feelings. It tells us to create positive thoughts to dwell on and learn
to think about the positive instead of the negative. Be happy and grateful
for what you have, embrace the gift. Bury the past, let it go. Live in the
present, and just don’t let your brain go there. When we have passion we can
feel the excitement. We can visualize the outcome. Maybe we can even smell,
taste or feel the outcome. In some ways you can have passion for a favourite
food, for example, where you visualize tasting and eating it, smelling it,
the texture and the joy it brings to you. And so, you may even salivate just
by having that passion for that food. Would it not be great to have a
passionate life; to feel passion for our work, our friends and family,
retirement, sleep and recreation, etc?
Yes, so many of us do enjoy those things. So why is it we have a hard time
becoming passionate about our own health? Have we lost faith? Do we believe
that we can have perfect health? Do we believe in fixing our own cancer or
arthritis or menopause symptoms? Do we need to or should we believe in the
doom and gloom picture we have been painted? Do we need to believe in what
we have been told?
I remember that when I was told I had cancer I had to have lymph nodes
removed and spot radiation or I would die. I chose not to believe in what
the conventional medical system had been taught; I chose to think outside
the box. I chose to believe in holistic medicine. I also chose not to tell
my family because of the negative thoughts they would bring forward, and how
they would have insisted that I follow what the doctors had suggested. I
chose to learn how to fix my cancer on a physical, emotional, mental and
spiritual level. I chose to believe that I could become well, and that all
the work was part of my journey. I chose to create positive affirmations
daily, to walk while I was in pain, to meditate and seek the angels, spirits
and my higher self to endure the challenge, and to seek positive,
knowledgeable people to surround myself with. I truly chose to have the
power of belief that I could beat the cancer...after all who has the right
to tell you when you are going to die.
From my experience, I say “Surrender your power to Spirit!” Allow yourself
to have the power of belief in the positive outcome with your dis “ease”,
and visualize total health. Dance, sing, fill your life with passion, joy
and love of being healthy. Do the work, feel the passion, feel the healing.
Create your desire and plan for getting well. Surrender the power of those
negative thought patterns and bring back the passion into your health!
Take back your health and live 2008 and beyond on a positive note. Have the
“Power of Belief!”
