RISING WOMEN EXPERT
ADVICE...
I have been experiencing a lot of stress, worry and anxiety in my life
lately. Can you suggest how I can let go and move on?
Two people can see or do the same thing and have dramatically different
perceptions of the experience. For one, it’s a negative experience, causing
them to feel overloaded, anxious, stressed and worried. For the other, it’s
a positive event that challenges and energizes them.
Why do we react so differently from each other? Perception is the key.
You perceive experiences through your personal filters. Each moment, there
are thousands of sensory experiences of sights, sounds, feelings, tastes and
smells, coming to you. All of this information goes through your “personal
filters” and then you select what to focus and pay attention to.
Your personal filters are made up of a combination of your past
experience’s, beliefs, values, personality, attitude and state of awareness.
This also includes your physical health, environment, interests,
preoccupations, time of day, culture, intuitiveness, etc.
You take bits and pieces of all of the sensory input you receive, run them
through your internal filters, interpret them, and determine your perception
of a person, situation or thing. You decide what you want to think, feel or
do about it. Your personal filters, determine if this is a positive
experience or a stressful one for you.
I suggest a combination of NLP techniques, intuitive counselling and Reiki
(energy work). These can help you to discover what your personal stresses
are, your personal filters and determine the underlying causes of your
stress.
NLP techniques, especially, connect you with both your conscious and
unconscious mind so you are always aware and in control. By changing your
perception(s) you can integrate supporting beliefs and change behaviours,
giving you new awareness of self, feelings, beliefs, etc.
Try integrating more positive responses to old patterns of your stress,
worry and anxiety. Become more self- accepting and confident, and integrate
more positive choices in your life.
