How do I become
unstoppable in my business and leverage my business growth from good to
outstanding?
Simple answer: Create focus and momentum by managing your fears, assumptions
and perceptions of people and possibilities. Success is based on a
multiplier effect of how you perceive possibilities, the assumptions you
make and how your fears influence your behaviors. This will be discussed
further below.
Step 1: Manage Your Fears - We have all seen unmanaged fears in
others and ourselves. Out of fear people panic, displaying performance
anxiety, over-reaction and moments of arrogance or narcissism. Others behave
with hostility leading to abrasiveness or sarcasm with clients. You may make
poor choices. You may run out of energy because you are so drained. Your
clients will then pull back and engage less thus losing valuable referrals
or repeat sales. The solution is to combine a program of extreme self care
with a strategic business plan that you are committed to. By taking
excellent care of yourself, your personal cup is full and fear management is
much easier.
Step 2: Manage Your Assumptions - Address this with the simple
statement: “Is this based on facts?” It is easy to create an assumption
versus asking probing questions or making the extra effort to reach out to
clients. When you fail to be fully present because of assumptions, you fail
to sincerely connect and build customer loyalty and a better brand. In
addition, you leave money on the table because you have assumed what and how
much the client is buying when perhaps there are more sales to pursue.
Step 3: Whatever You Perceive Is What You Create - Take the time to
challenge your current perceptions and open new doors of possibilities. Key
questions become: Why not? and What changes can I make to create new
possibilities? Whatever you focus on expands. Create a mastermind group and
help each other expand possibilities. Allowing other professionals to offer
new perceptions and join in the brainstorming of ideas can often spring your
business into action.
Step 4: Approach Your Business with a Good Sense of Humor and Enthusiasm
- Above all else, practice loving kindness and your clients will mirror
back to you what you are extending with more sales and referrals than you
can handle.
