RISING WOMEN EXPERT
ADVICE...
My husband is complaining that I never have the time or energy to spend
with him anymore. I have a high stress, demanding job and when I get home
there is always something more to do around the house, or with the children.
How do I make my husband understand that being intimate is not a top
priority for me?
While this is a common
complaint these days among couples, having quality time for yourself, and
for your partner, is always an important factor in every healthy
relationship.
We have taken it upon ourselves to be caregivers to our children, our
partner, and even our aging parents. When you add on the ever growing
responsibilities of a career and a house to run, women in today’s world have
so much more on their plate than ever before!
These stressful times can become overbearing for women, which causes the
hormones of Testosterone and Cortisol to be mass produced in our bodies. The
abundance of these two hormones, interfere with the production of the
relaxing female hormone, Oxytocin, making it difficult for a woman to relax
and fully enjoy her partner by the end of the day. The higher testosterone
levels in women of the 21st Century is greatly influenced by the amount of
stress she is under through all of these ongoing demands. This constant
state of stress, leads to higher amounts of cortisol in her body which may
then contribute to fatigue, weight gain, depression, lack of intimacy, sleep
irregularities, and many more negative issues.
One of the easiest ways to combat the increasing cortisol, is to build up a
higher amount of Oxytocin, by managing your time and stress effectively.
There are dozens of simple ways a woman can get the most out of her Oxytocin
levels. Walking in the park at lunch time, spending time by yourself,
chatting with another female friend, and asking your partner for help as
often as possible, are just a few helpful ideas.
With all of the outside demands, it is sometimes difficult for a woman to
make time for herself, without feeling guilty, yet by making this a priority
in your life, you will soon rediscover your desire to be intimate once
again.
Never give up, never give in!
