RISING WOMEN EXPERTS...
I set goals for myself but I have difficulty following through and
sticking with a plan. How can I learn to implement my goals and stay
motivated to continue with my action plan?

Some of us get stuck and have difficulty attaining our goals because of
our learned limitations in life. These obstacles could be in the form of our
values and beliefs which could be based on our upbringing, culture, religion
or societal expectations.
The other major obstacle to us moving forward is being unaware of our
negative self-talk, thoughts and language patterns. By using toxic language
in our daily communication we can be unconsciously sabotaging our own
success. This can include conversations with others or how we talk to
ourselves. The longest and largest conversation that we have in life is with
ourselves.
It is also important how we formulate our goals. It is critical that we use
motivating and inspiration language when writing down our goals. If we are
using words like “should” or “must” or “I need to do...”, we are setting
ourselves up for possible failure as these types of words put pressure on us
and weigh us down. Instead, use words that empower you to move forward, such
as “I can easily and naturally lose weight by exercising three times per
week and eating smaller portion sizes.” Turn your goals into positive and
inspiring messages to yourself.
It is more effective if your goals are very specific and the results
realistic and measurable. If results are not attainable, it will be
difficult to know when you have reached success.
A great way to achieve your goals is to time shift your mind to a time and
place where you have achieved that goal. Take yourself to a place where you
can feel and see that goal - every detail using all of your senses to fully
embody that goal or dream. The goal will become more real to you if you
experience it now in your imagination. Use daily affirmations or meditation
to reflect on your goals daily.
Acknowledging your learned limitations and negative self-talk is the first
step towards empowering yourself in your journey towards success. By
embodying your goals fully on a daily basis, you will stay motivated to
attain your dreams. Your intentions will become aligned with your goals...
Your dreams and goals will become reality! Happy dreaming!
