Creating Powerful Results - Creating
Marketing Strategies That Work
This is the last of three articles on creating marketing strategies that
work for the profit you deserve. In the first article we highlighted
strategies to create maximum impact. We discussed how today’s marketing is
any process that engages prospects and creates clients who pay, return and
refer. In the second article, we explored how even one powerful relationship
can lead to countless referrals and many opportunities for repeat business.
We highlighted how frequently your clients are a reflection of who you are
and the type of business you have created. We explored how you can leave
less money on the table. You leave money on the table when your clients are
unaware of your other services and the benefits. You leave money on the
table when you fail to grow repeat business. You leave money on the table
when your services fail to attract referrals. You leave money on the table
when you have failed to create the WOW factor.
Creating powerful results requires a commitment to becoming remarkable, and
a commitment to pursue your own path. Let’s reflect on the impact of
self-choice, self-governance and self-responsibility. These three skills
require you to set the stage for your own success by the degree you are
willing to be accountable for creating that success, and your willingness to
commit to the journey. Success becomes the journey and your willingness for
the continuous improvement engine can drive you there.
It is easy to get stuck or slow down your efforts in continuous improvement.
You often choose between a negative or a positive path. The challenge is
each path is impacted by the multiplier effect and the sum of your efforts
becomes more or less. You can be the cause of your own distress. For
example, when you start to assume or stop questioning, you stop learning,
innovating and stretching your capacities and competencies. The belief of
“good enough” can become a negative multiplier effect that can literally
create an economic downturn for your business. Chances are you only do this
some of the time.
In an instant, we can shift the negative to positive. Implement the change
by dedicating your resources and committing your enthusiasm and passion to
the cause. Everyone has the same twenty-four hours to engage the capacity to
manage your time and abilities. Remove the barriers and replace the “I
can’t” with the “I will find a way”, “I am willing to learn”, and “I believe
I will get there”.
You can achieve great things by challenging beliefs and believing that the
future is yours to create. Did you know that in the early to mid 1980’s
marketers within the computer industry thought that the personal computer
market wasn’t viable and they didn’t want to waste resources on marketing?
Remind yourself that you can create anything with the right attitude, the
right vision and the right resources. Here are some steps that will help you
on the path of becoming remarkable:
1) Gather and participate in a peer support group to give you new ideas,
support and critical feedback.
2) Keep a journal of your efforts so that you always have a source of ideas
and creativity.
3) Find a coach who can help you grow and who will support and help you stay
accountable.
4) Make a commitment to take refresher courses as this will provide you with
a more open mind and a learner’s edge for excellence.
5) Develop the art of radical honesty as this will enable you to move
forward more quickly.
6) Let go of the past and start each day fresh. This will enhance your daily
energy and enthusiasm.
7) Practice forgiveness as this will lighten the load and allow you to step
more fully into your personal power.
8) Practice asking and giving support as this will help you with accessing
additional resources. Practice generosity.
9) Have a vision board.
Focus on the quality factor of becoming remarkable. For example, when
Starbucks entered the market place it changed forever how coffee was
perceived and delivered. Starbucks elevated coffee, how we drink our coffee,
thus raising our expectations. What are you willing to do to elevate your
product or service into becoming an experience for your clients? Here are
some tips to help you along:
- Separate the can do later from the important tasks;
- Create blocks of time to be innovative;
- Improve customer service;
- Study your competition;
- Work on self-improvement;
- Understand viral marketing;
- Examine the future trends;
- Get feedback form your clients;
- Practice getting better at what you do;
- Brainstorm a list of what “can’t” be done and explore why not;
- Break with convention.
On a final note, bring together a marketing strategy that utilizes the
synergy of all three factors: Creating Maximum Impact, Creating Powerful
Relationships and Creating Powerful Results. When you are willing to
coordinate all three factors, you will create a power point for your
business. You will create a force and a momentum that is more than just
parts. This in turn leverages your efforts so that you create the profits
you deserve. You deserve to have your marketing strategies impact your
bottom line with one key result: increased sales and profits.
