Will my colon become dependent on a colonic like it does on drug-store laxatives?

The answer to this question is a definite “no”. To expand on why this is, let me explain the physiology of the colon and how a colonic works to make the colon stronger, not weaker.

First of all, the colon is a five foot (in most people) muscular tube made of muscular pockets hooked together to make the tube. The colon requires a “work-out” just like any other muscle in your body in order to keep its shape. This work-out will actually help keep the colon in its own organ space so it isn’t pressing on other organs causing pain and discomfort.

It is always wise to make sure you eat as many raw vegetables and whole grains, either sprouted or cooked, to keep your fiber up. Fiber in the diet provides the colon it’s work-out so that it can retain its shape by acting like a “broom”. It sweeps out all the pockets of the colon and keeps the muscles in the wall of the colon in tip-top condition. This keeps the elimination up, which by the way is three times per day if you are eating three good meals per day!

Due to the lack of fiber in the diet, most peoples’ colons are not in good condition. The colon can become twisted, constricted, toxic and saggy where it actually presses on other organs. A colon like this is the cause of many health ailments.

Colonics or Colon Hydrotherapy can change all this, (there are some contraindications) along with fiber and possibly some herbs. (I also recommend “friendly flora” after a colonic.) The ultra-purified water that is taken in during a colonic procedure is actually pushed out of the colon when it reaches a certain pressure within the colon itself. (There are pressure-receptors within the colon wall that trigger the feeling of fullness.) During a colonic procedure, the colon will push out water anywhere from 20 to 40 times, depending on the person. This is like taking your colon to the gym! Your muscles get stronger going to the gym just as your colon gets stronger from having a colonic. A number of colonics are needed over a period of time in order to correct the weakness of the colon. Try a colonic for a healthier body!
