ASK
OUR EXPERTS...
We are showcasing our services in three larger tradeshows this
Fall. Do you have any suggestions on how to decorate our booth to attract
attention?
Excellent question. So many tradeshow vendors forget the importance of the
“wow” factor when they market at tradeshows...especially those who are
marketing a service. Without product to make up the focal point of your
display, designing your booth requires a little extra effort and whole lot
of creativity. The bottom line is that your booth has to be aesthetically
eye-catching and unique to enter. Tradeshow visitors are looking for an
“experience” at these shows and if you capture their curiosity, they will
never forget you or your booth.
First of all, your display should instantly tell the viewer what your
service is all about. Your signage should have one clear, stand out message.
If your logo already says who you are and what you do (i.e: Get Skinny Now
Weight Loss Clinics - Freedom from Fat, One Roll at a Time!), have it
printed on a large banner and display as your backdrop. If your logo is
vague (i.e: HerbalLifetyle), consider having a tag line or question printed
for your backdrop banner to draw interest. In this example, you can use a
statement like “Are You ready to Lose Weight, Naturally?” or “Welcome to a
Healthier, Trimmer Lifestyle!” Also, keep your wall signage to a minimum.
Nobody really stops long enough to read countless points or paragraphs
posted on a wall, especially in a booth environment.
For the rest of the booth design concentrate on creating a welcoming
environment. I encourage you to bring in your own furniture and draping.
This will definitely set you apart from the rest of the 300 or so booths! A
wonderful solution for a service business is to create a mini office
ambiance that reflects your existing office. Consider bringing in
comfortable, upholstered chairs and small coffee tables. Bistro or high
patio sets are ideal in restricted booth spaces as well. Finish the space as
if you were decorating your livingroom at home. Include silk plants, floral
arrangements, unique table draping, fountains, etc. Incorporate your company
colours throughout the theme to strengthen your business “brand.”
If your service is of an intimate nature, place two comfortable chairs off
to the side away from the main booth area and traffic. Here you can sit with
an interested party in privacy.
Last, but not least, always carpet your booth!
