RISING WOMEN EXPERT
ADVICE...
What is the best way for women from ages
35 to 45 to balance their hormones?
The best way to balance hormones quickly is by doing the following. First,
cut out all white sugar, white rice and white flour. Second, start drinking
fresh vegetable juices to alkalize your system. And thirdly, take the
essential fatty acid or combination of fatty acids that is suitable for you.
What I have found over the years is that Borage, Evening Primrose, or Black
Currant oil capsules are helpful for night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings,
etc. But some women fare better with a combination of oils. For example, a
combination of Borage and Flax oil, or Evening Primrose oil and fish oil.
When the above three regimes are accomplished, your hormones will be more
balanced, and you will have fewer symptoms. However, you may need to go
further yet and balance the exact glands that are giving you the imbalance.
Women are individual and there are no exact recipes that work the same on
every woman. Herbs, homeopathic remedies and glandular extracts, in addition
to the three steps above can all be helpful depending on the woman’s
constitution and what the root cause of the hormone balance is.
The way most woman notice they are feeling more balanced is with their
moods. The moodiness gets better quickly as long as you are also off the
“white plague” as listed above. If you are having trouble staying away from
carbohydrates and have a “ring of belly fat”, then you have high cortisol
and increased insulin resistance. Chromium can balance blood sugars and
5-HTP can help you with the carbohydrate cravings. 5-HTP is also good to
help get rid of the sugar cravings until you get your body chemistry turned
around. Getting the adrenals and thyroid balanced through herbal formulas or
glandular products can be extremely helpful in this stressed out society.
If there are heavy bleeding or cramps, and other menstrual symptoms then
herbs like Black Cohosh, Wild Yam, Chaste Tree, Vitamin B6,
Calcium/Magnesium and Red Raspberry Leaf can be helpful depending on your
constitution and other factors.
One of the biggest lessons for women, especially, is getting help when you
need it. Do not go at this alone! I find women often go for years feeling
terrible when they don’t need to. If you have not found the “recipe” that
works for you, then go to a professional for help.
