RISING WOMEN EXPERT ADVICE...
Infertility
- Creating the Best Environment for Baby
About half of couples who experience a problem with fertility do so because
of a fertility problem in the woman. Infertility is defined as the inability
to become pregnant after one year of attempting too. Infertility is a common
problem. Roughly 10 percent of women who attempt to become pregnant
encounter problems with infertility. This last year has brought many of them
into my clinic. Many of them are totally frustrated and fearful that they
are baron forever. Here are a few text book reasons for fertility problems:
- Endometriosis - This occurs when the tissue that is usually found only in
the lining of the uterus (endometrial tissue) grows somewhere outside of the
uterus in the abdominal and pelvic region. Endometriosis may have no
symptoms, or it can cause painful intercourse and/or menstruation and
general pelvic pain. Sometimes spots of the lining of the uterus are found
inside the pelvis on the ovaries, the back of the uterus and the ligament
supports of the uterus. Although extensive endometriosis involving the tubes
and distorting of the ovary are clearly likely to interfere with egg
transport and ovulation, it may be addressed homeopathically and herbally,
but can take some time. Other options include laparoscopical surgery to
remove the tissue or bypassing it with artificial insemination.
- Problems with Ovulation - Some women will have either irregular ovulation
or will not ovulate at all. This is usually caused by problems with
hormones, and may or may not be accompanied by the absence of a period. Most
women with ovulation problems can become pregnant by use of natural
therapies for balancing hormones, such as homeopathy.
- Poor Egg Quality - Some women will have eggs that have abnormalities that
make it so they can not sustain a pregnancy. This is particularly common as
a woman becomes older because her body has accumulated more toxins declining
the quality of her eggs over time. Women with poor egg quality can regain
stronger healthier eggs by cleansing, building and regulating using herbs,
homeopathy, etc.
- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) - This is among the most common of
causes of infertility. It can cause a variety of problems from a delay in
conception to higher miscarriage rates to complications with pregnancy. For
some women, the first symptoms of PCOS are that they are having very few or
even no periods. Again, we can help this condition by working with
homeopathy, herbs and nutrients.
- Blocked or Damaged Fallopian Tubes - The most common cause of blocked
tubes is the Chlamydia infection. This will prevent sperm from getting to
the egg to be fertilized, and will also prevent the fertilized egg from
getting to your uterus. This can often be resolved homeopathically as well.
How do we get rid of these conditions that plague so many women? The first
thing I recommend is to detoxify your body completely from the
gastrointestinal tract to the organs and to the liver as it plays a major
role in hormones. You want to de-chemicalize and get rid of the remnants of
birth control pills, mercury fillings and toxins out of the body and brain.
This is important for both men and women so that when you do get pregnant,
the fetus will inherit less health problems.
Next, we build the health of the body on a whole, from the blood to the
organs, to the nervous system to the brain and, of course, the reproductive
organs. Through cleansing, we rid the body of cysts, blocked ovaries,
fibroids, and endometriosis, and usually regulate the menses and egg
production. The hypothalamus within the brain feeds the pituitary which
regulates the hormones for the pineal gland, thyroid, ovaries/ testes, and
uterus/prostate, so it makes sense that these things would need to be clean
and receiving nutrients so they can regulate the hormones necessary to
complete their function. Consequently this allows your body to produce an
egg, have it fertilized, naturally implanted into the uterus and fed
efficiently to carry full-term. Cleansing, rebuilding and regulating are
accomplished completely naturally through herbs, vitamins and homeopathy.
How do we know what we need to do? Blood analysis, iridology and tongue
diagnostics can tell whether there is toxins, hormone imbalances, nutrient
deficiencies, yeast, cysts and blockages. These help to determine the
dietary changes, herbs, vitamins and homeopathy specific for you condition.
So now both you and hubby are nutritionally fed and all your organs,
digestion and hormones are operating efficiently so you are ready to
conceive. Now what? When should you have sex? How often and how will you
know when you are ovulating? There are several signs of ovulation and you
should combine these with keeping track of your period. Get a calendar and
mark down the first day of your period, the last day, when you’ve noticed
more clear cervical mucous, and your temperature and mood changes. A typical
cycle lasts about 28 days and ovulation, the release of an egg from the
ovaries, happens on day 14 of that cycle. The first day of your cycle is the
day your period begins. Many woman are at their most fertile around the 14th
day after they started bleeding. Note however that although you have worked
out when you are ovulating it is important to have sex before during and
after that specific date. Sperm needs to be waiting when the egg is released
so you should have sex on days 8 through 17 to cover a few days before,
during and possibly after ovulation. You don’t need to have sex every night,
every second or third day is fine.
Personally I think you prepare your body on all levels, then you should
listen to your body, have sex when you feel like it, and concentrate on the
fun, the love and spiritual aspects of reproduction. Remember to create your
child from love!
