Bernadette McCormack was born and
raised in Alberta, Canada.
She began painting with
watercolours in 1992 while travelling and working in Mexico. She returned
home with a style that is prevalent in her work today. In 2003, while living
in Calgary, she was introduced to acrylic paints and now works in both
mediums.

Bernadette moved to Vancouver Island in 2007 and currently resides in
Duncan, BC with her husband and children. She is a member of the Cowichan
Valley Arts Council (CVAC) and at recent CVAC SassE Shows, her paintings
received awards for merit in 2008 and 2009. She was accepted into the
Filberg Festival in Comox, BC in the summer of 2008, which enabled her to
further establish herself as an artist on the island.
In
January of 2009, Bernadette painted on a seven and a half foot fiberglass
eagle sculpture for the BC Lions Society. Her eagle was installed in the
tourist zone of Victoria and remained there until April of 2010, at which
point it was auctioned off to raise funds for the BC Easter Seals Society.

In April of 2009,
Bernadette’s
painting “In One Boat Together” was chosen to be a part of a public art
exhibition in Sarasota, Florida. Embracing Our Differences, an international
art exhibition that promotes unity, tolerance, acceptance and love, installs
billboard sized paintings in Island Park for the public to consider, as we
reach for a better understanding of the diversities of the human race. (www.embracingourdifferences.org)

Bernadette’s studio is open to the public, and she welcomes visitors from
around the world to come and see her paintings, where she works, and to
discuss the perplexities of life and love. You can learn more about
