exhibited artist, Lisa Penz is inspired by beauty and driven to paint
spellbinding imagery. Her expressive nature, along with 12 years
of experience within the design industry, has fueled her ambition and her
passion to produce visually stunning works.
Lisa Penz is known for her captivating portrayals, which suspend a moment in
time and motivate the onlooker to see beyond initial allurement for a deeper
meaning. Both striking and captivating, Lisa’s bold, alluring, acrylic works
are a blend of traditions, reflecting the contemporary rework of Pop Art
symbolism with ethereal figurative art. Through coquettish subtleties and
enchanting eyes, Lisa’s paintings tell a story of enticing intent and
transformation.
 While
living abroad in Australia from 2004 to 2008, Lisa began to paint seriously.
Inspired by the artwork she was experiencing in a new country, Lisa was
“moved” by what she saw and became motivated to move others through her
artistic works.
Lisa enjoyed her first exhibition, “Solo”, in Brisbane, Australia in 2007,
which also resulted in her first sales as an artist.
Lisa is also excited by her recent successes in her hometown of Vancouver.
As a highlight, in October 2011, she successfully curated the “Indulgence”
exhibition at a local gallery, which featured her brave, new collection.
Lisa continues to evolve her alluring style, combining narratives with
elements of temptationism in order to bring
the viewer into realizing their own thresholds, leading the viewer down a
dark path or to a pathway of enlightenment.
“The viewer always has a choice; they decide the outcome of the subject in
the painting. I want them to choose their own adventure. That is the really
exciting part of the process for me. A painting becomes a unique story for
each individual that they can own, and I want them to have that.”
