5 Keys to
Fulfillment - A System to Success in Business & Life
By Cheryl Hurlburt of Ultimate Results Inc.
Dont ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself
what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what
the world needs is people who have come alive. Harold Whitman
Following the 5 Keys to Fulfillment will take you from where you are
now to where you have always wanted to be. Growing, learning and being open to change is a
vulnerable place to be. Are you willing to be in that place? The process of fulfillment is
about doing the inner work first.
There are five key elements in the process and I like to refer to five
tools that will assist with implementing a success system. This system is designed to
enhance and improve your quality of life. The process is created to be absolutely personal
to YOU and looks at three areas in any persons life.
1. Personal - meaning your relationship with yourself (mind, body and
spirit).
2. Relationships - your interactions with others (family, friends,
staff, co-workers and community).
3. Work/Financial - how do you make a living? (business, profession,
career, job).
Each of the key elements below are addressed from the perspective of
these three above areas.
The Five Keys: Defining Your Passion
Aligning Your Goals
Recognizing and
Removing Your Blocks
Balance
Action and Belief
Your Inner Tools: Magnifying Glass
Compass
Sledgehammer
Level
Gemstone
1. Defining Your Passion - What is most
important to you? What are you passionate about? Discovering these passions is
discovering who you are. The tool I refer to for this process is a magnifying glass.
Imagine if you took a magnifying glass and looked really close at the inside of you, what
would you see. What do you know to be true about you? What is most important to you in
your life and business right now? What do you love? Your vision will become clear
only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside dreams? Who looks inside
awakens,(Carl Jung). Being clear about what is most important to you, what you are
passionate about for you personally, in your relationships and in your business is the
critical first step.
2. Aligning Your Goals With Your Passions - How then do you
align these passions with your daily activities? In other words how do you make
sure that your goals and daily routines really represent what is most important to you.
The tool in this area is a compass. How do you determine the
directions for your life and business? Do you listen to your intuition, which I like to
refer to as our inner compass? We dont come with an instruction manual (sometimes
unfortunately), so we need to write our own and this needs to be aligned with what is
important to us. Writing down what you want in your life and business as it pertains to
your passions is magical and helps attract those things to us. Do you have a mission
statement for your life and your business? Do you use it as a guide in making decisions?
3. Determining What Obstacles Get In Your Way and Creating
Solutions to Overcoming Them - Your tool is a sledgehammer, great for
knocking those walls down. What has been the biggest block in your life? What has stopped
you in business, what gets in the way? Determining what the obstacles are and then
creating solutions to break through the walls is an incredibly freeing experience. Believe
it or not the process can be as simple as choosing to change your beliefs. Your are in
control of what you believe and have the freedom to change that at any time. Affirmations
and visualizations can assist in changing your beliefs.
4. Balance - How do you really spend your time? Your
inner tool in this area is a level. What does ideal balance look
like to you? Spending time on the things that are important and following your plan really
gives you the control and produces a sense of peace. It is only when we choose not to
follow our plan as it is aligned with what we know to be truly important that we feel
frazzled and pulled in a million different directions.
5. Action and Belief - At the end of the day it is the
action you take, as well as your belief in you, that will produce the results. You need to
plan your days and weeks in a way that considers your passions in all areas of your
life, (personal, relationships and work financial), your mission, your goals and your
balance.
This final tool is a gemstone and it is there
to remind you that we all have a hidden gem inside, sometimes the hardest part is finding
it, digging it out and polishing it up for all the world to see. What you believe to be
true is a direct reflection of where you are in your life and business.
If you will take the time to define your passions in life; (personally,
in relationships and in your business), then align these with your goals and daily
activities; recognize your blocks and develop strategies to remove them; develop a
balanced plan and follow through; and truly value and believe in who you are
you can
create the life you desire and have an amazingly successful business.
