The Living
Web Site - The Purpose
- Part 3
By Jan Eden of CEO In Training
Do you want your web site to remain a glorified yellow pages ad? Or do you want it to
become alive, enticing visitors to return again and again. Does your site invite these
guests to tell others? Do you want your website to engage in the purpose of what your
Living Web Site ultimately offers?
Living demonstrates being alive, being conscious of
movement, stimulation through education and excitement for what is in it for your
customers. The word living also implies an enticement to engage in what the
Living Web Site offers.
Why graduate your glorified yellow pages ad to a living document?
Graduating to a higher level of visibility separates your business from mediocrity. Just
having an Internet address that leads you to a mediocre web site will not help your
business grow. The vulnerability of remaining stagnant sends a subliminal message to the
visitor that you are stuck.
The main focus and purpose is to know without assumptions what your
regular customer wants the web site to offer them. The only way to discover what would
bring customers back again and again is simply just to ask them. In asking them, the
answers allow you to hear what you are not doing in order to serve the client or customer
you want to secure and sustain. Again, the web site acts as a catalyst for what you may
not be offering in your customer or client marketing plans and strategies. The main
objective in establishing the offering is to honour the visitor in all cases.
I am not sure that most people who own web sites globally today realize
the impact being out there really means. Being out there is just
that. Anyone can come upon your web site through Internet search engines and the question
to ask oneself iswhat is their first impression of you and your company? The
second question is why do they want to know you and choose to be in business with
you? Personally and professionally, we have a huge responsibility and
accountability, to ourselves and to our visitors, to strategically position our
credibility knowing that time is precious. Our goal is to honour your customers time
by offering effortless web site navigation in order for them to gain what they ultimately
came to claim.
Having a Living Web Sites sole/soul purpose is to keep the web
site owner in integrity with their own belief that what is ultimately being offered
significantly benefits and contributes greater value to the valued visitor. The offering
must be placed in the Living Web Site with intention. Positioning with intention
eliminates wishing and hoping. This is the wishing and hoping that just because you now
own a Living Web Site, it will create the results you desire. You are always in control of
the outcome. The greater the offering being offered to the valued customer enticing them
to return again and again, to tell others and to engage in your product or service, the
greater the success of attracting what you originally intended.
The purpose that is experienced by owning, nurturing and consciously
setting your Living Web Site up for success is the growth of integrity and credibility as
a business owner. At the end of the day, it is personal and professional growth through
witnessing the value that is brought to the end user that raises an individuals or a
companys vibration. When your vibration is stirred you become more visible. The
Living Web Site acts as a mirror of individual or corporate authenticity, which acts as a
measurement of absolute truth of value being offered.
As a visitor entering a web site - any web site - in most cases you can
immediately see what is missing. The glorified yellow pages ads that you are all becoming
accustomed to do not offer what a regular customer consciously or unconsciously demands in
order for them to return to visit the site, tell others and ultimately engage. The product
positioned on the Living Web Site must always provide greater value to your esteemed
visitor.
